Oh, Valentine's Day
It's not a regular saturday, it's a valentine's day. This day doesn't mean much to me, well..at least not yet i guess. Not willing to go straight home from work today ( not to mention that my sis and her husband are going outside to celebrate this lovely day), I thought this could be a good idea going to a bookstore and update my journal. So I took the subway and dropped off at lexington avenue, walking and seeing couples around with roses, passing some restaurants and saw only couples were eating. Somehow i felt a bit sad but not because I don't have someone special to celebrate with, but mostly because i couldn't get in any restaurant without feeling "lonely" ( i don't think anybody would want to eat out in a resto alone on this day, it would make it look pathetic ). So i had to skip my dinner and go straight to Barnes and Nobles.
I got myself another fiction by Marian Keyes ( my fav writer, i've been reading almost all of her books ), applied for a membership there and got myself 10% discount ( I can also use it in Starbucks there, yap ! ). Membership fee was $25 per year, it's reasonable as i thought; but then realized that to cover that fee, i have to buy books for like two every month. I might not do that often, but what the heck?? I paid the fee already and i can get discount on starbucks too, with the hope that it'd finally be paid off.
Hence, I thought having a drink in starbucks would make me looked less lonely, i ordered the new beverage : toffee nut frappucino ( which tastes like heaven ! I loved it ! ) but then couldn't get a seat because of some people who were sitting there for too long and not willing to get out! I couldn't wait long, then put on my coat and went to times square for a little internet. As usual ( and it's weekend ), 42nd street were full with people, and the people are a nice view not to mention the lights and high buildings and the glamourous of manhattan.
My first week of working going well even though i didn't have much works to do. For the last 5 days, i started up my day with a breakfast ( any muffin/bread/croisant and coffee ) at starbucks near my office. I think i don't have to tell you how much i love this starbucks ( I even applied for its credit card under my sis' name ) ! I don't think i can ever find other coffee as delicious as this one ! Yeah !
