Enyt's Blog

I started to write this blog in 2002 when I was still living in Osaka. This blog is more about my life abroad, my past and my present.

Name:
Location: New York, New York, United States

November is my fav month. I was born in Indonesia 28 years ago and currently living in New York. In the city of no close friends, i spend most of my leisure time at the gym and bookstores and yet i am neither muscular nor a nerd..: ) I take life as it is, i try to get as much as from life experiences while i am still young. I've been given a lot of opportunities to spend my life abroad, my inside curiosity is like a three years old kid. Give me the world, i'll give you my heart. :P

Last Weekend

The weekend was great. On Saturday’s night, I spent another valuable hours in Barnes and Nobles (again!), got myself a Traveler’s magazine, intended to buy a new novel but didn’t because I need to recalculate my expenses (I think that I already over-spent). I bought that magazine because in this March’s edition, they introduced Europe and Ireland (since I’ve become addicted to Irish writers, somehow I feel like I am into the country as well).

It was a sunny day on Sunday even though it was quite windy. After a hard time persuading my sis to go out with me (usually she doesn’t want to go anywhere on Sundays as sleeping is her top priority), she finally agreed. So we went to Brooklyn. We got off at Court Street and it was a good choice indeed. The street isn’t that wide, with the old fashioned of shops and restaurants on both sides, it’s so comfy. We decided to have our lunch at Armando Ristorante, an Italian restaurant with kind of romantic atmosphere. She ordered sirloin steak and I ordered my old time fav pasta: fettuccine. It’s called fettuccine san marco (green pasta with seafood and white clams sauce), it was delicious! We also had tiramisu (and the cream was unbelievable yummy) and cappuccino. I loved that place!

Finished with Brooklyn, we went back to Manhattan, strolled around. My sis got herself a Nine West’s shoe (oh, how much I wish I could go back to those weekends in Jakarta, shopped whatever I liked). I am trying to control myself not to do some unnecessary shopping here (anyway, doing some window-shopping will never hurt anyone)

I know that I need to cut my monthly expenses, it’s already over budgeted. I am starting to cut down my starbucks’ allowances, from café mocha to regular coffee (no bread/muffin/croissant anymore). You see, for the last two weeks, I had spent almost $70 just for breakfast. That’s too much already!
And I guess, there’ll be some reduction in foods and books as well as I am trying not to spend over than $600 per month.

There was another thing I did last week. I am starting writing again (not in this journal). I know that I always wanted to write (I need to learn, it’s really not easy at all). So anyway, I found this Writing and posted two personal stories. So far, I’ve got two encouraging comments on one of my writings. I know that I need to learn more, probably do some researches and correct some grammars, etc. I am glad that these people read them and gave me feedbacks so that I can try to improve to be a better writer. Yeah !
