Surprise and Surprise
Well well well....nothing more than surprises for the last few days. First, there was a call from a cousin of him, telling me that he's in New York City and would like to meet. I was extremely surprised of this one. Really ! I'll tell you more as I just met him and his friend this morning.
Another surprise was I got email from Sanyong yesterday, then followed by his phonecall from Canada in the afternoon. It's been a long time since the last time I heard from him. I was really happy talking with him and Annie, his girlfriend ( well, soon wife to be ) Yes, he proposed to her ( saying that he gave her a ring and hopefully this year they can get married, that was another surprise! ). Congratulations, my friend !
Now back to this morning. The cousin came with another friend ( whom he calls him brother. As a matter of fact, everybody are like brothers and sisters in his country as long as they come from the same ancestor). We talked in the starbucks and both of them seem nice persons. They'll be staying in New York City for 2 or 3 months before going to North Carolina for studying. So I guess at least I have a few friends here already...: )
He talked about his ex-girlfriend who has just got married to another guy a week before he came to USA ( it's one of personal things that I think I won't share with others on first meeting. Well, I guessed he's just being friendly ). He made some comments how Americans love to eat so many times and how big they are; about they're too old compared to their real ages. He asked about my age and I told him I am 27 and he said I look younger and very strong. Haha...I really made no comment on this thing.
He taught me some hausa language and I forget all of them already. Both of them didn't know where Indonesia is ( even asked me where exactly I come from, whether it's China or Japan ). Can't blame them, I didn't know their country either before I knew him. Then another blah blah blah...
So, of course the talks talked about him also. He told the cousin that I am a simple person ( he said that I am a fun person. Anyway, I was happy to hear that ). Hmm, I was a simple person. I think during these years, I've changed quite much. Hah !
