Still Looking

Last saturday I went out with one of Indonesian friends called Jackie to one job agency. Actually, there are lots of underground job agencies in chinatown here ( most of them speak Chinese ) but the one we went to spoke malay. So my friend Jackie got a job and I was offered as a sales person in a gift shop in 42nd street. I didn't take that job as I am still looking for better ones. Both my sis and brother in law advice me not to get too hurried to find one, just take more days. Well, to tell you the truth, I don't have much money left. I mean I do have some in bank but I just hope before i run out of money in my pocket, i'd like to start a job.

That day began with a few visits to Jackie's ex working places as he said he wanted to say hello to them. We went to cleaner shops and there, I met with some Indonesians and one of them said " Welcome to The Jungle ". From what I heard, it's really not easy to live in this big city. You've got to find your own ways. I ride in trains and walk much and I saw many homeless, poor people around. This is a developed country yet there're still many unfortunate people living like that ( well, it's not something new to me, it does happen alot in Jakarta ). Somehow, it does scare me a bit. What if I couldn't cope with life ? how long should I stay here ?

Meanwhile, the weather has dropped starting today, it's below 5 degree now, and this friday, snow showers will come. it's getting colder and even though I am starting to get used to cold weather, I hate to live under 0 degree. Really!
