Keep Going
Yes yes, i am working now. After searching for weeks, finally i got one in american restaurant here in manhattan. I work as a hostess which means i wear smiles all day long, and i have to wear nice and smart ( gosh, this one is difficult as i didn't bring many nice clothes, considering i wouldn'd need them here. But so far, i managed quite well tho ). I got well with the waiters and waitresses plus the kitchen staffs, except for one waitress. She's already old and fat and rude ! I don't like here, and i dont' think the others like her as well.
Working in american atmosphere brings me two advantages. First thing is i don't have to speak in chinese ( as my of my sis' friends working with asians ) and two, i think i can improve my english language. So that's good ! I try to talk to customers as much as possible, and be nice with the owner and co-workers. So far so good..yeah!
The other thing is i have stand up for 9 hours for 6 days in a week and by the end of the day, my feet are so hurt. But i guess i just need a few more weeks to get used to it. Hah !
A few times I was asked where i was coming from. None of them ever said i came from China ( good thing ! ). They guessed i was from whether Japan or Korea (?? ) or Phillipines. Oh gosh !
