Enyt's Blog

I started to write this blog in 2002 when I was still living in Osaka. This blog is more about my life abroad, my past and my present.

Name:
Location: New York, New York, United States

November is my fav month. I was born in Indonesia 28 years ago and currently living in New York. In the city of no close friends, i spend most of my leisure time at the gym and bookstores and yet i am neither muscular nor a nerd..: ) I take life as it is, i try to get as much as from life experiences while i am still young. I've been given a lot of opportunities to spend my life abroad, my inside curiosity is like a three years old kid. Give me the world, i'll give you my heart. :P

Yesterday, Ken and I went to Namba for window shopping. It was a good feeling since I was so bored for the last 2 weeks and finally going out for a little fun. We also went to one Thai's small supermarket in Nipponbashi as Ken would like to buy some cooking ingredients there. I really like the Thai's dipping chicken sauce, it tastes sweet and so delicious ( I couldn't find a chili like that in Jakarta ).

As usual, we like to find Japanese restaurant for the dinner. I don't know why but I never feel sick of Japanese foods ( well, maybe it has less oil and less calories, hehe ). This time I chose "iro iro agete " which has varieties of fried foods like chicken, potato, vegetable, etc, while Ken had tempura set. Hmm, talking about tempura, I never liked the tempura in Jakarta, but the ones in Japan are really yummy, so now I fell in love with tempura. Hah !

This week is a bad week for me in ramen ya san. I got a complain from my tencho about the rado oil. I always put the rado oil on the table after the cleaning time ( I don't want to blame myself because I was told to do so at the beginning ) but then last week, at midnights, the mouses came and I guess you know what happened. My tencho had to clean up the oil places ( she always has a morning shift). I was upset about that incident too because it was my bad luck that I got a complain from her. Well, what to say, I had to accept that even though later when Sou kun talked about it again, I tried to defend myself.

Last wednesday, an a very old man came to ramen ya san, perhaps he's already 70something. At first, we thought that he wanted to eat ramen, but he just tried to talking with us, but even my partner couldn't understand what he said, not to mention me. Anyway, he was getting more and more annoying because we're working and we hoped he would leave as soon as possible if he didn't want to eat anything. But the old man keep talking and disturbing us, so later my partner told me to ask the help of security. I was reluctant to do it because afterall I felt pity of the old man but we had no choice, so I called the security. Of course, the security was nice and he persuaded the oldman to leave the place even though both of my partner and I felt a bit guilty of that.

Meanwhile, the HPAIR already accepted me as the participant in this year conference in Sydney, Australia. But I guess I have to give it up as I don't have enough time to apply for the financial aid ( It's just too expensive for me to travel there on my own money ) but I was happy that they accepted my two essays. Hah !

This 22nd, my sister will register for her marriage in NYC, and the wedding ceremony will be held on december of this year. It still sounds a bit early for me that she decided to get married this soon. I don't mean about her age ( afterall, she's gonna be 28 soon this year), but I guess she knows what she's doing and as a good sister, I just want to support her and wish for her happiness.

Recently, I have paid highly attention to Nampa's guys ( notice, it's Nampa, different from a place called Namba ). This guys dress in formal suits, colored hairs and cute faces ( cute I say, not handsome ). Originally, Nampa meant a guy asking stranger ladies going out for drinks or dances, just for as a companion. But now it's a job. Nampa's guy would ask for a woman to a specific bars for companions or asking them to become hostesses.
Somehow, it seems interesting to me to see them walking and doing their jobs in the crowded places, mostly near the famous department stores.
